How to connect e-mail with "E-mail" App for Android? Print

You can easily connect your e-mail account with Email app for Android Devices following the steps below.

Step 1
Open Email app.
Step 2
In Select Account section you choose Other and click Next.   View Image
Step 3
Enter your E-mail Account and Password and click Next.   View Image
Step 4
In the question What type of account is this? you choose IMAP or POP3 * depending on what you need and click Next.   View Image
Step 5
  • Enter the Username viz your full e-mail and the Password.
  • Enter the name of the (incoming) mail Server (e.g. golf303.strasburg.friktoria.com)
  • In Security Type section you choose STARTTLS (Accept all certificates) and the Port 143 complemented automatically, you leave it as it is and click Next.

Step 6
  • Enter the name of outgoing mail Server (SMTP) (e.g. golf303.strasburg.friktoria.com).
  • In Security Type section you choose STARTTLS (Accept all certificates) and the Port 465 complemented automatically, you leave it as it is.
  • Enter the Username viz your full e-mail and the Password and click Next.

Step 7
Choose how often the app will check for new emails and if the account will be synced with the device and click Next.   View Image
Step 8
Enter the name that will be shown when sending emails and click Next.   View Image
Step 9
Click Finish.


* POP 3 servers by default store emails in the servers, until the download from the e-mail program you have. As soon as you download the emails, the server is informed that the message has been received and the server copy should be deleted.
IMAP servers on the other hand allow permanently email storage to the server.
